Vows

Attending weddings so closly to your own is really a beautiful thing. You really reflect on your wedding vows, those sacred words that all married couples say to one another on their wedding day.  This weekend was a wonderful and beautiful wedding between two of our friends! Congrats to the beautiful Mr. and Mrs. Jason Salton!!! :-)

The 4 of us! Congrats Brit and Jas! We love you guys!

**** Give them enough tears to keep them tender, enough hurts to keep them humane, enough of failure to keep their hands clenched tightly in yours, and enough of success to make them sure they walk with God.*****

Kirbster's new Friend:-)

Our friend came over to visit us last night and taught me a new way to cook chicken, complete with asparagus, squash, and brownies! :-) It is delightful, and I'm even eating leftovers!! The two were loving play time with each other.....

This is the best photo I could get of both of them.....

I'm sad there eyes are so creepy :-(

Monday night I started a new book.
It is cheap and very good. I haven't been able to get my eyes out of it. :-)
Have a great night! I tried to post more, but blogger is acting up:-(

9/11

September 11th!!!! This day marks.....

1. My dad's birthday!!! :-) He is the best dad ever!! :-)

First and foremost I love my dad so much, this has always been your day. :-)

Dear Dad,

With all that's going on in the world one thing that you've always made known to me that I am your pride and joy and you will always love me. My daddy was my hero from a very early age. And when I got my "b's" and "d's" mixed up you were dabby. :-) You kept me safe and happy and brought me home sprinkled donuts, because you knew they were my favorite. :-) Every manly thing you did I looked up to you. You taught me important life lessons, and took some time for fun. It helped me build a firm foundation that I can now stand on. My dad is my hero now that I'm fully grown the bills come to my house with my name on them. :-) I love you and respect you. You are the best man I have ever known. I knew that when I married LOML he was a great man, just like my father, dad, my hero you'll always be. :-)

Love you!

2. This day 9 years ago when the U.S. was attacked, which resulted in over 3,000 deaths.

It hardly seems that it could be that long ago I was sitting in government class as a sophmore in high school, and the T.V. was flipped on in class and we sat there in awe! WOW, I feel old now. It's crazy to me that 9/11 is in my students textbooks, too! Growing up I read many of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage soul books. My MIL gave me, "Chicken Soup for the Soul of America." Stories to Heal the Heart of our Nation.

Or as Mayor Giuliani says, " It was New York City's worst week. But it was New York City's best week. We have never been braver. We have never been stronger."

3. The annual IOWA vs. IOWA STATE Football game today was 35-7! Go HAWKS!!! :-)

Isn't this a beautiful thing.....

4. WAY to go UNI, 16-9!

Goodnight! :-)

Dear Weekend, Please Don't Go!

Labor Day weekend has come and gone in a flash. Friday night was filled with shopping with friends and some great deals.. Saturday was sister day, we got our eyebrows waxed and pedicures...

Sunday, we went to church, and here is a verse I haven't heard in a while that I love...
Hebrews 12:1 " And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish." He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward."

LOML worked and I babysat, we also had a campfire with the beautiful fire ring LOML built this summer.

Today, was very relaxing! We had a great day with family! Our nephew caught his first fish!!

Tonight LOML went to close up the garage and he comes in with this... I think a family of them live on our deck.

Hope everyone had a great relaxing weekend!
The Benge's :-)
