A Day in Yellowstone. July 11th, 2015

Left Idaho the morning at 6:30 AM in hopes of seeing a lot of animals in Yellowstone! We woke up to this georgeous sight & headed out! lots of beautiful horses ready to be fed.
We were off & on a mission to see Yellowstone in a day so we drove back down to Jackson Hole and entered the Grand Teton National Park which connects to the South Entrance of Yellowstone once you take the John D. Rockefeller Memorial Parkway. We entered Yellowstone at 10:30 AM.
First stopped at a beautiful fall off the side of the road.
Then stopped at Lewis Falls (which was named after the Lewis & Clark Expedition)
A little farther down the road was a neat beach where Laura picked up some wood & I picked up some rocks to bring back home to Hadley.

The next stop was the West Thumb Geyser Basin & the hot springs of West Thumb proved to be a really neat beautiful coloring, but it did hail on us a little which caused the color to not be as bright.
 This was the Black Pool.

Next stop was Old Faithful. It was really neat, full of tourist but worth it. It is estimated to erupt every 90 minutes and while we didn't see it erupt (maybe next time) it was still a must see!

Stopped at a few more places to see falls, paint pots & basins.

As well as coyote.
Bison were everywhere in the Lamar Valley. Crossing the road right beside of and in front & behind us.

 Tower Fall.

Soda Butte- An extinct hot spring that still emits a sulfer smell. (Can ou say STINKY) 👃🌋
All in all it was a nice day and we headed out the NE Entrance toward Montana at 8PM.

Stopped to get a pic of our 1st time in Montana.
Then headed to Cooke City, Montana for some supper. It was a neat little mountain town.
Drove a very scenic highway on the way out of town.
Stopped in a little Wyoming mountain town to sleep and got up and left this morning at 6AM and have been driving all day! Stopping every couple hours to stretch & take bathroom breaks. It's been a long haul but all in all a nice time and we hope to be home around 9PM. 🌅

July 10th, 2015 Wyoming Trip Part 2

Good Morning From the Mountains!!!! 😍

Woke up this morning in Victor, Idaho! It was so relaxing and peaceful! I made a pot of coffee & my MIL made bacon, eggs, sausage, and some toast! Enjoyed a nice breakfast in the cabin.
We left Idaho around. 9:30 and headed to Jackson Hole. Took a few more pictures this morning while driving through the Teton Pass.
Arrived at Jackson Hole and it began to rain so we were pretty concerned we weren't going to be able to go hiking or exploring on Friday, but thankfully after a few hours the rain let up and the sun came out!
Of course the Grizzly Man ( who always wants to see a bear) had to get a picture with a bear!😄

Then, we headed straight for the entrance of Grand Teton National Park and went back to North Jenny lake, string lake & Leigh Lake for some more hiking adventures & beautiful scenery!

I even got in the water, which was a little chilly but so clear you could see straight to the bottom of the Lake!

A little yoga in the Tetons! 😍
& meditation with Nature! ❤️

The portage ( where you could get on and off the lake with your canoe or kayak) it was a breathtaking view!
We walked a little farther and I wrote my name in the sand!

Even thought it would make a beautiful place to renew wedding vows. ❤️ (we didnt but it would be pretty) 💍

Kept on hiking some pretty scenery but pretty treacherous so a mile seemed equivalent to 3 when your going straight up a mountain! Laura and I like to goof around while hiking as long as we can remember to take a lot of deep breaths in so we weren't constantly panting for air!
We did encounter another friendly deer on our way around String Lake!
Once we finished our 6 mile hike we were tired and hungry and ready to head back to the cabin to eat so we said goodbye to the Tetons for the night and headed out, but not with out more breathtaking scenery!

This little book mark helped us identify which one was which. 👍🏻

Headed back to Victor, Idaho to the cabin around 8:30PM and even saw some moose before leaving laying in some marsh at the edge of the park. Grizzly man made us some cheeseburgers and corn and we played some rummy with the in-laws and headed for bed so we could get up early for a day @ Yellowstone.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming July 9, 2015

We left Bondurant, WY at 8:30AM this morning, but not with out a little scare. My Father-in-law had a little incident coming down the stairs after dropping off the cabin keys. We were sitting in the car and heard him yell in pain. He fell down the stairs and hit his back and knocked the wind out of him.
Arrived at Jackson Hole at 9AM and checked out some fun gift shops! We also stopped at the welcome center and saw a bear and were chased by some elk!

After a little tourist shopping we headed to Kelly, WY. A small little town and then headed to Mormon row, where we saw the famous barn with the Tetons in the background.

This was our first wildlife spotting of buffalo. Then we stopped at the visitor center which had some amazing windows!
Next, we headed into the park where our first stop was Jenny Lake, which is just breathtaking!

We began hiking around Jenny Lake to go to Hidden Falls!
We spotted a mama moose & baby moose! Then continue hiking! We even met a new friend from the Bronx.

Found a cute little cave! 😄  Before we found the hidden falls, we found a nice mini fall.
Then, we hiked farther up the mountain and we found he hidden falls! So beautiful!!! 😄❤️

Then we began hiking back around the lake with our new friend Su & spotted a bear! We hiked over 6 miles and that is more exercise than I have done all year so my feet were a little sore!

And a deer!

We got back in the car & began driving to The North Jenny Lake Entrance which is where string lake is! The water was like glass & just georgeous!

Drove to Victory, Idaho to our sweet little cabin for the next two nights and my grizzly man cooked us some T-Bone and we enjoyed a nice supper last night before we headed to bed we played a little deuces wild rummy before hitting the hay!
