Genesis & Matthew

The morning started out with rain...

A strange kinda day... it makes you think.... Good Friday and Earth day..... can they correlate?

Answer: ABSOLUTELY!!!

When searching for an answer to a lingering question in your head, what better place to go for an answer than the bible.

Let's start at the beginning with Genesis, the first book of the bible. In Genesis 1:1 it states, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." In 1970 when Nixon was president, it was the time when the US was becoming familiar with the Environmental clean air and water acts. Which means that Earth day has only been a  designated national holiday for 41 years!
I know I have some goals of my own to be better at taking care of our earth. I believe that God created this earth that we live on and that we should do our best conscious effort to take care of it.

Whether that means small things like planting a tree, using LED light bulbs, or taking shorter showers, recycling, driving cars that get good gas milage, carpooling. Whatever it might be, we all can do little things to help take care of this world that has been created by God for us.

Today was not only Earth Day it was Good Friday, which is the day Jesus died on the Cross. Today I saw rain, then I saw a hint of sun, then I observed this....

An image that really caught my eye... It's almost like a hazy fog that has lasted through the night. It reminds me of what it may have been like the night Jesus was crucified on the cross this day thousands of years ago, between two criminals. In Matthew 27:51, "It says the earth quaked and the rocks were split."

The bible clearly tells us that God created the heavens and the earth, and that God sent his own son to die on the cross for our sins. God is love, he always has been, always will be. When we need answers he's the one we need to go to.

John 3:16, "For GOD so loved the WORLD he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Amen!!
